This lesson will be used with students in third, fourth and fifth grades. This will be incorporated into their daily activities and lessons by their classroom teacher and the Technology Specialist. These projects are planned for several weeks to allow the students plenty of time for research, data collection and presentation design and implementation. The classes will spend at least one hour a day for the next few weeks on the topic of weather. The classroom teacher will incorporate the topic into daily writing, Reading, Math and group activities. Students have prior knowledge and skills in the following software that they may be using: Note Taker, Power Point, Keynote, Inspiration, Safari (browser), Internet Explorer (browser), School Page (web design for their efolio), and various websites which will include: Clipart, Brain Pop and Net Trekker.

This lesson was created for students in Florida and cover the following Benchmarks:

SC.H.2.2.1. The student knows that natural events are often predictable and logical.

SC.E.1.2.1. The student knows that the tilt of the Earth on its own axis as it rotates and revolves around the sun causes changes in season, length of day, and energy available.

MA.E.3.2.1. The student creates an appropriate graph to display data (for example, pictographs, bar graphs, line graphs, circle graphs).

MA.D.2.2.2. The student uses informal methods, such as physical models and graphs, to solve real-world problems involving equations and inequalities.
